GFES PTA submits an application to the Children’s Science Center (CSC) lottery in the hopes of securing a date for their “Family Science Night.” This is an evening program for elementary schools designed for parent volunteers to self-guide their students through up to twelve engaging hands-on activities. The activities are aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and are meant to instill a love of learning STEM concepts. For more information please visit http://childsci.org.
CSC requires 15 adult (ages 16 and over) volunteers to make this event a success!
Volunteer commitments include:
· Lead station activities
· Reading all related-activity materials and watching the activity-specific online video prior to the event
· Committing to volunteer from 5pm to 8:30pm on the evening of the event
